How We Met

Matt was returning from a business trip in Ireland and had just switched his Hinge location back to San Francisco. Cristian had recently arrived in SF for a summer internship and was first up in the queue. Even though Matt had a new hire sales training early the next morning, Cristian convinced him to grab drinks after Matt’s long 12-hour journey home.

Our First Date

Our initial meeting was casual drinks at a cozy bar near Matt's rental in the city. But our first real date was an all-day adventure starting with a hike in the Presidio and ending with dinner at A16 in the Marina. There was an immediate spark as we realized our shared passion for the outdoors, deep conversations, and the comfort of each other’s mature souls.

Milestones & Adventures

Our relationship blossomed through memorable moments:

- Navigating eight months of long-distance dating, alternating weekends between San Francisco and Los Angeles.

- The unexpected acceleration of our relationship during the pandemic, moving in much sooner than planned and spending more time together than we could have imagined—putting our connection to the test in the best ways.

- Supporting each other through significant career pivots, with Matt moving into consulting and Cristian pursuing real estate.

- Traveling to both new and beloved places, including an adventure trying out life in NYC, which ultimately reaffirmed our deep love and commitment to San Francisco as our home base.
